Soccer Rocker

Ava joined recreational Soccer for our area. We purchased her cleats and if she could have slept in them she would have HAHA. Here are a few shots from one of her practices. She picked up the skills she was taught rather quickly and truly enjoyed working together with her teammates.

P.S. I have to share that even though Ava was on the soccer field she used it as her dance floor in between drills. hehe What can I say? She loves to dance!
Encouraging her teammate to try his best! Proud mommy moment!

Happy Snowman

It's been fun to watch how much Ava has improved from her dance classes at age 3. She really loves to dance and I hope she continues to let this be the way she expresses herself. This year she danced to the song In Summer. (ya know the song Olaf sings in Frozen?) She danced her little heart out. She was so happy to have both sets of grandparents come watch her spring recital. I am thankful we have family that are so supportive!

Just waiting to go on stage!

Ava, Our Favorite Dancer!

Easter Grasping Work

Lucy is eager to try anything that big sister is doing. I've tried to put together a few basic practical life works for her. Here she is using a paint pallet that I bought from the dollar tree and some small egg ornaments from Michael's to practice her grasping skills. Such an easy work to put together for the little ones.

Mini Snow Day

Our area didn't receive but maybe 3 inches of snow this year. The girls didn't mind. These pictures are from when the snow just started to fall.

You have to taste it!

Trying to catch some snowflakes.

Lucy wanted a wagon ride!

Snowball fight with daddy!

Easter Egg Tree

A few years back I was in Michael's when I spotted the cutest sparkly egg ornaments. I HAD to have them but wasn't sure what I'd do with them. I decided to create this Easter practical life work for Ava. Who wouldn't love an Easter egg tree? It's really easy to put together. I had an old jewelry tree that looks similar to tree branches....I placed the eggs in a basket and let the artist decorate!

Father's V-Day Snack

I really love that Ava's school lets the parents/guardians participate on holidays and special occasions. Today happens to be Father's Valentines Snack. Ava loves to dress up and her daddy loves to escort her. Lucy wanted to get in on the fun! hehe Ava and daddy got to eat a snack, sing with Ava's friends and Chris received a magnet made by Ava.

Daddy never shows up empty handed! Balloons and toy roses hehe

Wet Pouring

Wet pouring is one of the early basic Montessori Practical Life Works. A child typically does wet pouring after dry pouring. A child would have mastered the Use of a Sponge work before being introduced to wet pouring. You could create your own wet pouring work or purchase the water pouring work from Montessori Services. You'll need 2 small pitchers. See through pitchers are preferred because a point of interest for the child is seeing the colored water. You'll need a tray and a sponge for spills.

Ava has had a lot of practice with wet pouring. She was demonstrating for her sister, Lucy.

Make sure to include a sponge to wipe up any spills.

Lucy trying her hand at wet pouring. Lots of spills but she truly enjoyed herself.
