Ava's preschool lets out for the summer in May which makes for a looooong break. The past 2 summers I kind of played it by ear and put out works here and there. This year I decided to put together some themes and cover some interesting topics. I also wanted to keep all that she's learned fresh in her mind so we've included some traditional academia as well. This week we covered the letter A and Apples. I of course went to pinterest for ideas to help. I'll do my best to include every link FYI.
We used
sandpaper letters and objects, puzzle pieces from
Melissa & Doug,
Alphabet Soup Sorters,
Alpha Pops,
letter worksheets, and arts and crafts.
We also learned the parts of an apple using
The Crafty Classrooms awesome nomenclature cards. We used
Montessori For Everyone's cards to learn about the life cycle of an apple. We love story time around here so we used
This Reading Mama's book list for the letter A.
