When I was teaching I'd start the year off with the theme of "All About Me." One section I would cover is our five senses. We read the book My Five Senses by Aliki and we used The Reading Mama's free printable All About Me package. I printed out the I Have Five Senses booklet and read it. There is a color copy of the booklet and a black and white template you can print out so your child can color the pages and make their own booklet. Then I printed out the activity featured below in the pictures. There are labels for see, hear, smell, taste and touch with coordinating pictures that go under each category. (Another way to use this work is to use the labels but use concrete items instead of pictures.) Ava enjoyed this activity very much and spent the rest of the day talking about things she could experience in her environment with her five senses.
I love this!
