Our Little Dancer

This past weekend was Ava's dance recital. Anyone who knows Ava knows she's not a big fan of doing anything to her hair but brushing it. I couldn't believe that she sat so still for me to curl and fix her hair for her recital. She really enjoyed the makeup portion of getting ready. She would ask me to stop throughout the process so she could take a look at her progress in the mirror. I just chuckled to myself and thought, "Look at all the fun I have to look forward to, formals, prom, her wedding day! Sigh!"

Her grandparents drove up to watch her at her Saturday afternoon performance. And boy did she put on a show! She danced her little heart out to the song Lollipop. They were the little Munchkins from the Wizard of Oz! I was so proud that even though she slipped on one portion of the song she got right back up and kept going. Such a brave girl! After the show we cut a small cake for Ava. She truly enjoyed having everyone there to celebrate her big day! Sunday we got to see her dance again and this time no slips! Whew! She danced so great! I don't know if she'll want to stick with dancing the rest of her life but it sure has been fun to watch her this past year! We love you Ava!!

She doesn't get sweets often can you tell? HAHA
